Did a good planning ans also has a fast legs. Clear victory in 2h distance. Easy navigation, just some short hesitation, which cost us 1 point.

Two man relay 3rd leg with my route. Start ~2' behind first team, did good work together with Sirmagio, who start some seconds after me. Caught a lot of teams to 4th control, but never caught the leading guy Uldis Upitis! Did a very big mistake to 7th control, when did not executed my own route choice because other tried to straight. Sirmagio went to finish because of very bad and cold weather. Lost some 2-3' there. After Tapsas 4th leg we finished 5th place, but actually could win this race.

Two man relay. I did the 1st and 3rd leg. This is 1st leg map with my route. I was leading to the 3rd control, but than I and some other 5 guys did the same mistake (so interesting place).. after that I was 1' down, but did not executed well also next control and did again ~2' mistake. Push as hard as I can to last control to get some time back.

Second attempt for Jukola forest orienteering test race. the same course which we did in the first time. Main goal was to see how much time you can win, when you are running in full speed. I can do it 1' faster, but with different route choice to 7th control which was 15'' slower than first time when I run around.

First attempt on 2.3k Jukola test race with emit punching. Check out route choices, uphill, downhill running, technique etc. Good navigation from me, just not the best route choice on long leg.

First Jukola 2018 training. I was a little bit afraid from this terrain and did no trust myself to the first control, later start to do my own route choices and did good job till the end. Fought for victory with Sasha and Sirmagio, but lost them 3''.
Time 47:23.

Third leg for TuMe 1st team. Not so good feeling and I do this relay race just like an easy training. One bigger mistake, but all other course was OK just slow. Sirmais let me in the forest as leader, but lost Timo near the second control (gaffling).

Club Match individual race. My main race for this weekend. Tried to focus and also push myself to fight all the way. Did a very good race, lost some time during the race, but biggest mistake was to third last and second last controls. Totally mistakes cost me 1'. Timo Sild caught me for 4' on second last control. Overall I got a 3rd place - 4:12 to Timo, 1:36 to Sirmais and won Lauri Sild for 17''.

From beginning already I felt tired, but tried to push hard together with Arturs Paulins and Guntis Malins. After first butterfly I was second after Malins, but in front of Paulins 20''. Did a mistake to next control and let Paulins run away alone, because Malins also did a mistake. On the open field I saw that in front of me is 4 guys group and if I want to fight for a medal I must to catch them. Did it to next control, but I knew that Paulins is in front of us. Decide to stay with group, but our group speed was slower than Paulins speed who run alone almost all of the race. In the half way I understood that my legs are very weak and I am slowest guy in the group. My only chance was to hang with boys and tried my luck in last butterfly who was in the end of the race. Not so lucky this year, because 3 guys from the group was the same butterfly .. After second butterfly loop we caught Paulins and everybody start to fight for the medal... I did not have power to do that and let the boys fight. Finished 6th, not so happy about place, but race plan was good. My chance was to stay together with Paulins, but I miss it.

Club relay. Run 7th (last) leg, before me already 9 people run 6 legs. Overall team performance was good, just too big time we lost on 3rd leg (7'). My race was almost clean, but I can do it a little bit better (~1'-1'20''). Started in 8th position and finished 5th, just 2' behind 4th place.

Again problems in the beginning of the race, alter on got in my own rhythm and did a very good race, because at the 7th control I was 4' behind 1st leg runners, but in the finish I was 2.5' in 3rd place.
Second leg runner for us lost a huge (16') time out there and with Edgars Bertuks in the last leg (with best time in relay race) it was not enough to take any of medal and we finished 7th.

Very bad beginning of the race. Mistake to the first 2 controls, than to 6th control in the middle of the leg misunderstand to which control I am going and lost 1.5' there. Later again overtook a leg and missed 40'' to 9th control. After that my race was pretty OK, because already I was 5' behind a winner there.

Very bad relay 1st leg from my side. Already miss 1st control, but everybody did the same who has this forking, but I was in the end of the pack and did not see where other goes to 2nd control and choose very bad route choice, tried to correct it, but anyway lost there 1'. Tried to rush and on the climb to 3rd control lost my compass, tried to find for about 2', but without success and did very boring first leg run, with much lower speed than guys in the front of me.. Also some navigation errors and in the last par I was quite empty (physically and emotional). This was last start for National team, because at the moment I am stopping for a while to be a part of the NT, because I do not have enough time to be out there in forest for normal orienteering training and I`m not ready to steel this time from my family.

Really similar terrain for Word Cup middle and relay. Navigation was a little bit better than previous, but still too much BIG errors, hope to find a flow for relay!

Training for WC relay on next week in Cesis. First part was "line" orienteering for warm up to forest intervals, forest was so green and with so much fallen trees, that I decide just to run on parts where is better runability. Second part was O-intervals mass start with Janis Tamuzs, Martins Sirmais, Andris Jubelis and Laura Vike. Very hard to run fast, because all the time you stuck somewhere or fall down, better is to run a little bit slower but smarter, because it is possible to find a good route from control to control and find a flow. Last part for us was pick up a control flags from interval training.

Did a training race, because it is just 10km from my wife parents home. Did a big mistake to the 2nd control and Edgars Bertuks caught me for 4'. Rest the race run together, some parts I in front, some parts Edgars. Was good decision to run with Edgars, because he also did a training race and it was fun.

Selection race for World Cup 2017 in Cesis. Very hot weather (30+), tried to push as hard as I can at this day, but already from first step understood that it will be hard for me. Struggled with speed and navigation already from beginning, also too slow decisions for route choices. Big mistake (3') in last part of the race. Not happy with my performance at all.

Overall OK navigation, but too much small errors for so easy terrain and my running speed, because Saturdays 42km trail race still in my legs.

Similar terrain for WC, Latvian champ middle and relay also World champ 2018. in the beginning I had a lot of problems with navigation and understanding how to orienteering in this kind of terrain. Later on navigation was better, but anyway some mistakes also in the end. Need to start table-O to correct a mistakes.

Tried to run at competition pace. Very fats pine forest, with some hills and underground vegetation. Happy that I can push harder also in the last part of the course.

First 5 guys did very good job out there. I started in 16th position, just behind Frederic Tranchand and before Bjorn Ekeberg. Caught FT at the 2nd control, but I did not have power to follow his speed (in the end we have equal forking for all leg). Stay behind BE till 4th leg middle, but than he run away. Did normal orienteering, but than miss ~3' in the green and did not see how other team passed me. Continued together with Koovee 2nd team runner till last part where we have different forking and I missed a bit there (2'). in the end finished in group with 5 other runners and let our last leg runner fight for TOP25 (podium), but we were too weak and finished 38 position - 2nd best second team in this Jukola.

Much more better race as a TuMe test races for Jukola selection. Tried to push as hard as I can at the moment. 35' run together with M.Bostrom, who caught me (2') after 20' of running and my mistake to 5th control. Lost him on the way to 11th control. Later did OK navigation by myself, some small errors as in previous day at the control circle. Anyway good shit to run in Finland week before Jukola.

Did a training race. Really hard one, also in training mode my body and legs did not work properly in so hard terrain. Also navigation not so good and I can not understand (seen) correct control places in the forest.

This time start to Magnets as competition mode to test my knee feeling when I am running faster. Test was good, but my navigation not so good, also control No.49 was stolen and I spend there 2' extra. Satisfied with my knee reaction also day after.

First orienteering training after right knee problems. Did it very easy and careful. Still need some time till I will be 100% ready for running/orienteering training, but hope that manage to do till Jukola.

After whole week fight with my ITBs pain in right leg I was ready to start in 6h rogaining, but it was mistake, because after 3hours on asphalt my legs was dead and last hour was really terrible. Again pains in right leg.
Anyway we were strong enough and finished with 2nd best point score. Again some problems with rout planning.

Just 2nd time this year with a map in my hand. Quite OK navigation and body feeling after 3000m test run in the morning. I liked this terrain and map very!

After couple of months without orienteering, today I moved back to forest. Navigation was okay, but I am very slow, weak in the forest and also bad winter training (injury, sickness and one more sickness), it was a reason to run very slow this course.
