VEF Pavasaris (31.03.2012)

Free start. Started passively and with heavy legs after yesterday's strenght training. Small mistakes to 32. and 35.cp, wrong route choice to 38. (thought the green might be runnable - wasn't), small direction mistake to 39. and unsafe attack point to 42., where I was caught up by Janis Kums. Continued together, changing lead. Had better route choice to 46. - could take the lead. Lost it to 52., couldn't keep up the pace any more and had to let Janis go. (From control 53. GPS route was wrong, had to adjust it very much) Met him soon after 56., where he was confused and making a mistake. From there on I knew that I had a chance to win 2 minutes back and pushed hard. In the end Janis lost me 12 seconds which gave me third place after Martins Sirmais (incredible sub-forty-minute-time) and Janis Krumins. Without Janis help wouldn't make it into top six, I think.
